This easy to use full colour wheel twists around to reveal the age section you need and has information on both sides. It has been developed as an easy to read and easy to use use tool for parents/carers that is designed to compliment our 'Development and Learning Journey' book for practitioners of children from birth to five. The wheel was produced with early years practitioners and it is a cheaper follow on from the original 'Helping Little Ones Bloom' book (which is for birth to three years). Written by practitioners and early years advisors the wheel contains useful information about what we might expect children to be achieving in the first five years of their life and how the family can help.

Split into nine sections the moveable wheel twists round to the relevant age section - the first being birth to three months and the last being age four to five. On one side of the wheel there are general things that the child might/should be able to do at each age stage and there is also a list of things that the family can do to help the child, for each age group. The reverse side gives parents information about how to keep the child safe and healthy at each stage of their development from birth through to five years old. This was the first of our two wheels covering the early years (0-5) and our other newer 'speech and language wheel' focuses on how young children will develop from recognition and movement, through to their talking and writing skills from an early age. This simple to use one piece tool (measuring approx 230mm in diameter, so they are easy to carry around) comes laminated for a longer lifespan and all of the information contained within it was written by practitioners and early years advisors to ensure that it will meet the needs of not only parents and carers, but also practitioners, students and others working in early years.

Organisations/authorities can buy the wheels in bulk or they can be purchased individually. Delivery/schedule notice: We will always try to meet your needs in every way we can, but 'customised wheels' can take at least four working weeks to produce following the approval of your artwork. This is due to the complex manufacturing process, part of which is done manually to construct the wheels. In busy periods (such as Feb - April during the government financial year end) and for large quantities, production can take longer. Please therefore build in plenty of time in your schedule of needs to ensure we can meet your timescales. Sometimes we can get things done a bit quicker and we will always try, but the product is of a complex construction.

Hanging your wheels - Our Development Wheels^™ come with two rivets in them to hold them together and ensure they work properly. One rivet is in the centre of the wheels and the other is near the top of the 'outer' of the wheel. Many customers are now 'hanging' wheels within the reception area of their centres or settings and you can order your kit to do this with your order. Each kit comes with a self-adhesive plastic 'hook' and a flexible wire which can stretch up to 3.5 metres long. Either order online when you buy your wheels or add these to your order form when you buy. Kits are only £1 each (inc delivery) + vat.
